About ANZA Korea

ANZA's beginnings were in the Aussie Connections group started in Seoul in the late 1970's by Rachel Miller, wife of the then Australian Ambassador, Geoff Miller. The idea was to give expat spouses, embassy spouses and missionaries a place to feel more comfortable and was held at the Australian residence once a month. Money was raised for Korean charities over the years by this group of Australians by making and selling handicrafts and cakes.

By August 2001, Aussie Connections joined with a New Zealand organisation to become The Australian and New Zealand Association, Korea. ANZA was already a well-established expat organisation internationally, having been founded in 1948.

ANZA is still following in Aussie Connection's footsteps, and hosts a number of key social functions a year to raise money for non-government funded Korean charities.

Whether you are new to Seoul or a long term resident, ANZA provides information, networking, social, recreational and sporting activities for its' members.  Some of the benefits that members enjoy include:

- Monthly Global Cafe
- Annual Fundraising Ball
- Melbourne Cup Lunch
- Wine Order twice per year
- Social Functions
- Sporting Activities
- Special Interest Groups

ANZA supports various local charities through its fundraising activities including:

- Jeon Jing Sang Centre  support for financially disadvantaged families
- Raphael House - support for disabled children
- Mubupjunsa - a youth centre housing 31 orphans ranging from age 6 through to college age students.
- Emmaus Welfare Centre  - community care for intellectually and developmentally disabled people.

There are lots of opportunities to get involved -  Contact Us  for more information.
