Looking for a unique way to connect, explore art, and enjoy a cozy morning with fellow ANZA Korea members? Join us for our May Art Coffee Morning at Tent Coffee in Mapo-gu to delve into the fascinating realm of botanical art with guest artist Sun Ho Lee! Sun will share her story of studying botanical art in Melbourne and her experiences transferring artworks to other mediums, such as clothing and print. Attendees can purchase food & drinks at the cafe, as well as a selection of botanical art items from the artist.

Sunho Lee – Artist Profile

Sunho Lee is a Korean botanical artist with over 20 years of experience, specializing in the depiction of Australian native plants. Her work is characterized by a refined balance of scientific accuracy and artistic expression, capturing the intricate structures and vibrant colors of species such as eucalyptus and waratah. Lee received formal training at the Melbourne Botanical Art School and completed the Diploma Course with the Society of Botanical Artists (SBA) in the UK. She has studied under professional artists in both Australia and Europe, developing a distinctive visual language rooted in deep botanical observation.

Her work has been featured in major exhibitions at the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne, MCG Gallery, and Nature in Art Group Show, as well as with BASA (Australia), ASBA (USA), and in Plantae 2023 and Plantae 2025 (London, UK). Since returning to Korea in 2021, she has held solo and group exhibitions at Aramnuri Gallery, Kyungin Art Gallery (Insa-dong), and Maru Art Center.

Lee is an active member of ASBA (USA), SBA (UK), BASA (Australia), Royal Botanic Gardens (Australia), and Nature in Art. Her current focus includes the study of native Korean flora, aiming to connect the ecosystems of Australia and Korea through botanical art.
