About

Sister Gerardine has spent 30 years establishing an incredible range of facilities for the underprivileged in this poor area at the bottom of the Korean peninsular.

The Myongdo Bakery provides sheltered employment for a small, industrious group of disabled adults who bake a mean jam roll.

The donation of KRW 6.8 million has enabled the purchase of an industrial oven (replacing one that had broken down) which means the bakers will no longer have to work through the night when they get a big order to fill.

We also acknowledge the valuable contribution from the Seoul International Women’s Association (SIWA) who also contributed KRW 3.3 million to this project.
